  8.      This file is used to initialize your printer for report generation. Lines
  9. 1-6 are the ONLY ones that have any effect:
  10.  
  11.   Ln 1: printer initialization for printing reports in the Hunt mode
  12.   Ln 2: select character set containing IBM graphics characters (if your prin-
  13.         ter uses switches to select character sets, you may skip this item)
  14.   Ln 3: compressed print                Ln 4: 1/8 inch line spacing
  15.   Ln 5: # of columns your printer can print in compressed mode (132 or 230)
  16.   Ln 6: # of lines per per page with 1/8 inch spacing (88 or 68)

  18. Each of lines 1 to 4 should contain a valid 1- to 5-character escape sequence
  19. for your printer. You need not fill in all the lines, but the ones you do fill
  20. in must follow the above scheme.  Each escape sequence must be in the form of
  21. characters, not decimal or hex numbers.  Consult your printer's manual for the
  22. sequences you need, and remember to use the correct lines above for whatever
  23. sequences you enter.  Lines 5 and 6 consist of mere numbers.

  25.      In EDITX, to enter a CONTROL-CHARACTER (such as ESC), you must press ^P
  26. (CTRL-P) just before you type the control character. Example for Epson LX-800:

  35.    Note that Line 2's graphics sequence will not have the desired effect un-
  36. less your printer's graphic character set is absolutely identical to that of
  37. the IBM PC line of computers.

  39.    If you were using an Epson LX-800 printer and standard 8-1/2" x 11" paper,
  40. lines 1 to 6 would appear as:

  49. If you don't have an printer that can use IBM graphics, you might want to
  50. enter whatever codes your printer recognizes for the borders of a calendar.
  51. Starting at column 11 of row 2, you may designate three-digit codes for the
  52. following graphics characters:

  55.        DoubleTopLeftCorner,             DoubleTopRightCorner,
  56.        DoubleBottomLeftCorner,          DoubleBottomRightCorner,

  59.        VerticalDouble To HorizontalSingle pointing Right (T pointing right),

  69. Enter a three-digit code for each one of these characters, and string the codes
  70. together into one huge number that starts at line column 11 of line 2.  Th
  71. huge number should be exactly 60 digits long.  Then, you should erase the
  72. period at the right margin.
